SK Pres. Cherilyn V. Mina

About

Cherilyn Vicencio Mina was born on November 12, 1999. Truly a Mandaleño, she was born and raised in Mandaluyong City as the youngest among the three daughters of Ronald Mina
and Edralin Mina.

As a child, Cherilyn grew up prioritizing fun and making the most of her time by joining
various activities. She participated in her school’s programs and had also been an active member of the Mandaluyong Children's Choir.

She finished her elementary studies at St. Therese Private School, continued junior high school at San Felipe Parochial School, and finally finished her senior high education, graduating
with honors, at Rizal Technological University.

Valuing the importance of education for the youth, she was a consistent President’s Lister
and graduated with the degree of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a Major in Financial Management at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines Manila in 2022.

Her first venture into politics was in 2018, when she was elected as the Sangguniang Kabataan Chairwoman of Barangay Pag-Asa. She was also elected as the treasurer of the SK
Federation, despite being the youngest of her peers at the time.

During her term as an SK Chairwoman, she made sure to allocate her resources to
strengthening education, health, sports, gender sensitivity, and youth development in the barangay. Some of the notable projects she led during her term were distributing COVID-19 care kits to not only the youth but also their families, the Yearly Basketball League and Linggo ng Kabataan activities, Nutrition Month cooking contests, and the yearly distribution of school supplies. She also partnered with different youth organizations, together with her SK Council, to conduct leadership seminars, educational trainings, and SOGIE seminars.

After being re-elected in 2023, she is currently serving her second consecutive term as SK Chairperson of Barangay Pag-Asa. On that same year, she was elected as the SK Federation
President of Mandaluyong City, making her an ex-officio member of the City Council. Her leadership reflects a deep commitment to youth empowerment.

With her dual roles, she actively represents the voice of the youth both at the barangay and city levels, leading various programs focused on education, mental health, livelihood, and youth development.

Her re-election in Barangay Pag-Asa and citywide mandate as Federation President demonstrate the strong trust and confidence the youth of Mandaluyong have in her vision and
leadership. With this, she aspires and hopes to serve more of the Mandaleño youth and empower
